Rob Delaney, Sir Patrick Stewart troll British Prime Minister David Cameron

BRITISH PM David Cameron just wanted the world to know he was doing something about the crisis in Ukraine. He never saw the storm of smarmy tweets coming.

DAVID Cameron’s tweet would have been fine without the photo.

The British Prime Minister had been speaking to US President Barack Obama about the escalating crisis in Ukraine. He wanted his Twitter followers to know he and Obama were “united in condemnation of Russia’s actions”.

So Cameron posted a photo of himself on the phone, sporting his most serious bad-things-are-happening-in-Ukraine-and-I-am-definitely-doing-something-to-fix-it face.

Comedian Rob Delaney clearly thought the PM was taking himself too seriously, so he decided to give Mr Cameron a pasting. So to speak.

That set the smart alecs of Twitter alight. Led by actor Sir Patrick Stewart, they started to post their own variations of Mr Delaney’s tweet, mercilessly making fun of the British leader. Here’s a selection of their best efforts.
