The person who posted the pic on China's social media site Weibo, user name @SPEShow_For_You, wrote "I saw a familiar looking uncle on the metro; I seem to have met a wonderful person."
It comes just a few months after another picture was posted by a professor at Shangdong University in May of a man who resembled the physicist.
The latest picture sparked a flurry of comments
"I knew that you would come back to save us ...... " wrote one.
"Einstein made a time machine," wrote another.
But the 'sighting' of the German-born scientist may not be the only discovery in the picture with a familiar red-and-white jumper perhaps answering the age-old question of "where's Wally."
