Man charged over alleged dark net drug supply south of Brisbane

A man has been charged as part of a police investigation into the alleged use of dark net accounts to advertise the sale of illicit drugs.

Police bodycam footage has captured the moment officers stormed a home south of Brisbane as part of their investigation into the alleged use of dark net accounts to advertise the sale of illicit drugs.

A 27-year-old Queensland man has been charged with multiple drug offences after detectives from the synthetic drug operations unit, drug and serious crime group executed a search warrant on a property in Rochedale South, near Logan, on December 9.

An electronic ledger containing about 4.5 bitcoins, worth about $112,000, was seized during the search.

An officer discovers the wads of cash and drugs allegedly found in the home of a man in South Rochedale.

Another $25,000 in cash, a mobile phone and steroids were also discovered.

IAn officer can be seen in the footage uncovering the man’s alleged stash, which appears to be concealed in a packet of Shapes.

The man was charged with supplying dangerous drugs, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of things used in the commission of a drug offence and possession of property obtained from supply of dangerous drugs.

A 27-year-old man has been charged with multiple drug offences after police allegedly uncovered cash and steroids at his home south of Brisbane on December 9.

He will appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on January 12.

Troy Pukallus, Acting Superintendent of the drug and serious crime group, said the arrest highlighted the specialised capability emerging in the state drug squad to target the use of dark net drug trafficking.
