‘Like hell’: Google search ends in embarrassing result for PC World
IT TURNS out the search giant can get things wrong after all. This stuff-up from Google caused a world of pain for one UK PC retailer.
GOOGLE might be seen as an infallible search giant, but even the mighty can stuff up as it recently did by embarrassing a UK company.
If you had Googled electronics supplier PC World you would have had a double-take moment as included in the relevant information on the search result was an “official” logo mocking the company.
PC World has a logo with a slogan that usually reads: “The Computer Superstore” but this doctored image said: “Like hell, but with worse customer service”.
The error was down to Google grabbing the image from an old online article about PC World cutting jobs in its servicing department, with the fake slogan poking fun at its infamous customer dissatisfaction complaints.
Sadly, for those wishing to revel in the funny mistake the gaffe was removed almost immediately after PC World made Google aware. But Twitter managed to get hold of it and it is currently doing the retweet rounds.
