Pope Francis made a surprising admission about priests and nuns at a Vatican meeting.

Speaking with seminarians in Rome on Monday, the pontiff talked about the dangers of online pornography. He revealed priests and nuns watch internet porn.

“Each of you think if you’ve had the experience or had the temptation of digital pornography,” the 85-year-old said.

“It’s a vice that so many people have, so many laymen, so many lay women, and even priests and nuns.

The Pope urged the audience to “delete” lewd images from their phones “so you won’t have temptation in your hand”.

“The devil enters from there: it weakens the priestly heart,” he added.

Back in June, the religious leader condemned pornography as a “permanent attack on the dignity of men and women”. He then declared obscenity as a “threat to public health”.

According to the Daily Mail, Catholic priests and nuns are forbidden from watching pornography.

Under article 2354, Catechism defines sexual imagery as an “offence against chastity”.

In 2020, Pope Francis’ official Instagram account had ‘liked’ a racy snap of a Brazilian model Natalie Garibotto.

The X-rated picture showed the glamour girl standing at a school locker with a pile of textbooks, while wearing a skimpy white cropped T-shirt and red tartan-checked skirt cut so short it reveals her bare bum.

The model said the pontiff’s verified Franciscus account was among the tens of thousands that ‘liked’ the image.

The ‘like’ was removed after the Catholic News Agency (CNA) asked the Vatican’s press office for comment.

The Pope’s social media accounts are managed by a team and not the pontiff himself, according to the CNA.
