‘Friends for Hire’ will let lonely souls hire a friend
A NEW Aussie service is about to launch its website that will let you hire a friend if you’re feeling a bit lonely.
A NEW Aussie start-up ‘Friends for Hire’ is gearing up to launch in Australia to help the friendless find a friend. But only a friend.
Business Insider is reporting that the new site will launch on March 22 to pre-registered members following its three-month development by Queensland based Wildside Group.
The aim of the service to help lonely folk find a friend, and only a friend with a strict “no physical contact” rule. The service’s creator wants to make this clear, telling Business Insider,
“It’s definitely not a dating website. It’s for people who are lonely, without the expectation that things will move beyond a platonic friendship.
“If anyone was found to be outside the terms of service, we would remove them from the site.”
You can sign up on the site as either a “member” or “friend”, with members being those who are looking for a friend and friends being the ones who want to be your new bro for a fee of up to $60 an hour. Yep, your new buddy comes at a pretty hefty price.
There have been other popular services like this in the past including Rent a Friend, but this is the first to be launched and based in Australia.
