Devotees of cult leader Charles Manson are crowd-funding his funeral
AN online page has been set up by Charles Manson’s devotees to ensure he is laid to rest with ‘dignity’.
CULT leader Charles Manson will be buried with a crowd-funded funeral, if his devotees have their way.
Friends and supporters of the convicted criminal have set up a donations page on popular crowd-funding website, GoFundMe, to ensure Manson’s “remains are laid to rest with the honour, respect & dignity he deserves.”

The page ‘Please Help my friend Jason’ was set up by John Jones, who claims to be a friend of Manson’s last remaining relative, Jason Freeman.
“It is with a heavy heart I must announce, not only have we lost a dear friend & loved one. Charles age 83, but two days prior to Charles’ passing away, his grandson Jason Lee Freeman lost his job,” reads the page.
Freeman, a married father-of-three from Ohio, must now bear the cost of covering all expenses and “also cover the costs of doing what’s right by his grandfather” explains the post.
The fundraising page calls for donations to help cover lawyers’ fees, travel arrangements and promises all those who donate a “part of this moment in history of freeing Charles from the same system that did everything in their power to destroy him.
“We will not sit back & let them throw Mr. Manson away like trash. His whole life he lived with the pain of feeling unclaimed. We must not let this happen in death. Together we can help Jason bring his grandfather home & prove to the world Charles WAS LOVED & WILL BE CLAIMED!” it states.
Manson died, aged 83, of natural causes at Kern County hospital, California, on November 19.
The infamous cult leader who orchestrated the gruesome Manson Family murders of 1969, including the savage stabbing of pregnant actor Sharon Tate, was serving a life term and had already been imprisoned for 45 years at the time of his death.
According to Californian law, an inmate must annually identify his or her next of kin on a Notification in Case of Inmate Death form.
The Department of Corrections must then attempt to notify the listed individuals who are then given 10 days to claim the body.
It remains unclear as to whether Manson had nominated Freeman on his form and what will happen to his body.
