Google reverse decision to make sexually explicit blogs on its Blogger platform private
GOOGLE has reversed proposed rules to remove sexually explicit content from its Blogger platform.
GOOGLE has done a backflip on its decision to force sexually explicit blogs on its Blogger platform to become private.
Last week, users of Blogger were informed by Google they would no longer be allowed to post sexually explicated content on the site.
However, it appears a huge backlash from users forced them to reconsider the change that was supposed to be effective as of March 23.
Google’s Social Product Support Manager Jessica Pelegio explained the decision on a blog post.
“We’ve had a ton of feedback … so rather than implement this change, we’ve decided to step up enforcement around our existing policy prohibiting commercial porn,” she wrote.
“Blog owners should continue to mark any blogs containing sexually explicit content as “adult” so that they can be placed behind an “adult content” warning page.
“Bloggers whose content is consistent with this and other policies do not need to make any changes to their blogs.”
