Teen Mercedes driver arrested after string of alleged speeding offences
A suspected serial hoon has been arrested and his beloved Mercedes seized after police found videos of him allegedly swerving through traffic on social media.
An alleged serial hoon has been arrested after he was caught clocking speeds of over 260km/h on a Melbourne freeway, posting footage of the alleged joy ride online himself.
Victoria Police arrested the 19-year-old on Friday and seized his Mercedes AMG C-Class after a string of speeding offences over the past eight months.
The Berwick teenager has been posting videos of his alleged speeding to social media, with one clip allegedly shopping him weaving through traffic at high speeds on the Monash Freeway.
“This is literally what I do as a game,” he can be heard saying in the video.
Another man can be heard yelling “f**king hell” as he allegedly speeds through the traffic and swerves through lanes.
At around 2.30am on Tuesday April 25 a vehicle was allegedly clocked travelling south on Monash Freeway near the Ernst Wanke Rd Exit at an approximate speed of 262km/h.
He is also believed to have reached speeds of 184 to 261km/h in four separate incidents across Melbourne from August 2022 to April of this year.
Police arrested the teenager after executing a search warrant at a home in Melbourne’s southeastern suburbs.
The 19-year-old was arrested at the Lawton Grove address in Berwick and a red Mercedes AMG was seized.
In total he has been charged with 27 offences including reckless conduct endangering life, reckless conduct endangering serious injury, dangerous speed and racing another vehicle.
Sergeant Paul Holtzinger said police would continue to focus on driving that “threatened” the safety of the community.

“Every day police officers see the consequences of speed and other high-risk driving behaviours which are devastating not only to us, but to loved ones and the wider community,” he said.
He said police were aware of the videos and pictures on social media.
The 19-year-old man has been bailed to appear in Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on August 8.
