Photos shows cars stored at vehicle graveyard amid coronavirus slump
Photos show thousands of cars being stored at a large holding area in England amid a slump in demand during the coronavirus pandemic.
Thousands of hire cars have been photographed at a “car graveyard” at a former racetrack in the East Midlands in the UK amid a slump in demand caused by the pandemic.
The used cars are parked around the disused Rockingham Race Track in Corby in Northamptonshire. The cars are being stored at the track after leasing and hire of vehicles experienced a massive slump following the coronavirus pandemic.
The second-hand sale market has also taken a hit, with less drivers on the road since restrictions came into place earlier this year.
The owner of the facility said he’d had seen a huge spike in demand for storage at the facility during the pandemic but still had some space available, according to Northants Live.

The former racetrack now serves as a storage area for vehicles before they’re moved on for sale at second-hand dealerships or auctions.
The coronavirus pandemic caused road traffic to dive to a third of regular levels in the UK.

Throughout the pandemic photos of plane graveyards have emerged as devastating changes to the aviation industry led to the mass grounding of aircraft.
Photos of jumbo jets grounded in Alice Springs caught a photographer’s attention in May. And in June another large plane and car graveyard in San Francisco was photographed from the air.
