Woman run over by truck in near tragedy
A young woman is in hospital in a serious condition after she was run over by a large truck on Wednesday.
A woman is in hospital in a serious condition after she was run over by a truck in Western Sydney.
The woman in her 30s has suffered serious injuries to her chest, abdomen and pelvis as a result of the incident.
NSW Ambulance, Fire and Rescue Crews and a CareFlight Helicopter rushed to the scene at 12:30pm after the crash was reported.
The woman required paramedics and firefighters to extricate her from under the large truck, according to NSW Ambulance Inspector Nathan Sheraton.
“Fortunately, she wasn’t trapped by the vehicle but we did need a multi-agency response to safely remove her,” they said.
“A number of resources were dispatched to the scene, including a critical care medical retrieval team.”
The woman was treated by a CareFlight specialist doctor and a critical care paramedic at the scene for her serious injuries.
She was also provided with blood transfusions to stabilise her, according to a CareFlight spokesperson.
The patient was taken in a road ambulance with ongoing treatment by CareFlight’s specialist doctor to Westmead Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
