A woman has allegedly been punched in the face and nearly dragged from her car in a horrific road rage incident in western Sydney.

NSW Police said they believe a man of Maori or Pacific Island appearance may be able to assist with their investigations.

The alleged victim, a 31 year-old-old woman, was driving through Campbelltown between 5.45pm and 5.55pm on Saturday, July 29, when she beeped at a black Mitsubishi sedan at the intersection of Blaxland and Campbelltown roads.

After the woman tooted her horn, it’s understood the driver of the Mitsubishi, who police described as having a “large build” and a tattoo on his left arm, got out of his car and allegedly punched the woman in the face.

The woman, however, was able to drive off before he could drag her from the car, police said.

She drove to Campbelltown Hospital but was transferred to Liverpool Hospital where she underwent surgery for multiple facial fractures.

“As I turn around, I just felt a blunt force hit my face,” the alleged victim said on TikTok.

“My glasses flew off into the back, and I felt instantly that there was something wrong with my nose.”

Detective Superintendent Andrew Mackay said the alleged attack occurred on a “busy intersection”.

“I need the public’s help – someone to come forward whose seen what’s occurred,” Superintendent Mackay said.

“It’s a busy intersection, there’s a lot of cars around.”

Anyone who witnessed the alleged assault is urged to contact Crime Stoppers or Campbelltown Police.
