WA Premier Mark McGowan involved in car crash with Perth woman
A Perth woman has had a bizarre start to the week after she crashed into the West Australian Premier’s car on her way to work.
A Perth woman’s first day of a new job got off to a strange start when she crashed into Premier Mark McGowan’s car outside of her office.
The collision happened on Wednesday morning in the riverside suburb of Applecross as the Premier’s car turned a corner.
Mr McGowan told reporters on Wednesday that he heard a loud bang.
“It felt worse than it was,” he said.
“We were just coming around a corner and another car sort of hit us.”
Neither the Premier, nor the woman were injured during the accident and there was minimal damage to their vehicles.
“I’m fine. It wasn’t that bad,” he said.
“But she was great. She was good-humoured, a bit shaken up, a bit shocked, but we had a good chat.”
When he spoke with the woman, she revealed that it was her first day at a new job – her office was just 30m away from where the incident took place.
“Her boss came out, it was all very dramatic, I think, for her,” Mr McGowan said.
The Premier reportedly took a photo with the woman before they both headed into work.
