Traffic has come to a standstill on the Sydney Harbour Bridge after a van lost an entire load of salmon.

A van travelling northbound on the Sydney Harbour Bridge made traffic come to a standstill on Tuesday morning.

An entire load of salmon had fallen out of the van causing chaos during the busy morning commute.

NSW Police were called to the site just after 9am.

A spokesman told NCA Newswire it had been resolved before officers arrived.
