Toddler runs onto King Georges Road during peak hour traffic
Shocking footage has emerged of a child running onto a busy Sydney road during peak hour traffic after escaping from a home.
Shocking footage has emerged showing the moment a toddler ran across a busy Sydney road during peak hour traffic.
The incident happened at King Georges Road on Monday afternoon when the three-year old boy escaped from a home and wandered into oncoming traffic.
A car can be seen turning towards the toddler before he was saved by a man who stepped out of his car to rescue the boy.
Truck driver Tani Ferreyra, who captured the harrowing incident on his dash camera, can be heard saying “oh my god” as he watched the potentially-deadly scene unfold.
“Every car was in shock, like ‘what do we do’,” he told 7News after the incident.
“I felt stressed, I don’t have kids but this is something you don’t see every day.”
The boy ended up on the road after escaping through a gap in a fence, with his mother telling 7 News that she only looked away for a moment.
NSW Metropolitan Roads Minister Natalie Ward said it was a reminder to the public to be vigilant while on the road.
“That’s why parents and children need to be vigilant,” she told 7 News.
“That’s why our families need to look out for each other on the road, things can change in a second.”
