Sydney teen riding e-scooter hospitalised after collision with car

The 15-year-old was taken to hospital in a serious condition, while the driver of the vehicle involved is assisting police with their inquiries.

A teenage girl has been rushed to hospital with head injuries after the e-scooter she was riding collided with a car in Sydney’s inner west.

The 15-year-old was travelling along Catherine St in Lilyfield when she collided with a sedan at around 9.30pm on Wednesday.

NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to the scene and treated the teen before she was taken to Sydney Children’s Hospital in a serious condition having suffered a head injury.

The 36-year-old male driver of the Nissan sedan was uninjured but taken to hospital for mandatory testing before he was brought to Newtown Police Station.

A crime scene has been established at the site of the incident and an investigation into the circumstances around the crash has begun, while the driver is assisting police with their inquiries.
