Getting a better score
For those who are miffed about their Uber rider rating, an Uber spokesperson has offered helpful tips for adding an extra point to their score.
“No one likes waiting,” the spokesperson said. “Be ready when your driver arrives, and make sure the pick-up location you entered is where you’ll be.”
It’s also encouraged the rider greets the Uber driver, even if they’re not a fan of small talk. “Uber driver partners often mention how much they appreciate those small interactions that make their day brighter, particularly during the festive season,” the spokesperson said.
Passengers are also encouraged to avoid leaving the Uber in a messy state.
“Make sure you take your rubbish and belongings with you to help keep the car clean for the next rider to enjoy, and try to refrain from eating and drinking en route,” the Uber spokesperson said.
Uber recommends riders avoid slamming car doors when leaving the vehicle and following the community guidelines to avoid a rough score.
“Treat your driver and their vehicle with the same kindness you’d want for yourself,” they said.
