Roundabout road rule sign in Byron Bay sparks a huge reaction online
A driver in Byron Bay has taken a long-running roundabout gripe into their own hands and erected a makeshift road sign.
Roundabouts have long been a hotspot for frustrated beeps, cranky hand gestures and disapproving head shakes.
Combine a confusing layout with an overly nervous or aggressive driver, and you would have what many would describe a recipe for disaster.
The positioning of a roundabout can be enough to throw even the most sophisticated of drivers off, particularly where multiple lanes, entries and exits are concerned.
One inventive driver in Byron Bay has come up with their own solution for a particularly painful intersection in a busy part of the northern NSW town.

The road user attempted to put an end to their long-running gripe by installing a handmade diagram displaying how to correctly use the roundabout.
They drew a picture of the roundabout and used white marker to highlight the left lane which ran straight ahead.
Next to the white line, which was labelled “you”, the artist wrote, “Go! You have your own lane! Don’t stop!”
It was understood the makeshift road sign was erected at the junction of Ewingsdale Road and Bayshore Drive.
An image of the sign received a huge reaction after it was uploaded to Facebook last week, with locals praising the work of the sign installer.
“I love whoever made this! I don’t know how people couldn’t understand the concept of a roundabout,” the person that posted the image wrote.

“Oh that’s gold. I’m always screaming, ‘You have your own lane.’ Thank you,” someone wrote in a comment.
“I agree entirely. It’s so frustrating being behind fools who stop and wait forever,” another said.
Others said those who entered the roundabout without first checking to the right could be at risk of colliding with someone who changed lanes while using it.
“I have seen people change lanes randomly on a roundabout too often to think it’s safe to just go without stopping and checking,” one wrote.
“Some people coming from the right are just dumb sh*ts so sometimes you have to stop,” another said.
On Monday, the image was shared to Facebook by a Canberra local, calling on someone to erect a similar sign at the problematic roundabout at Parkes Way and Anzac Parade.
