Motorbike driver dies after hitting kangaroo in south east Queensland

A man, 48, had been riding a motorbike in rural Queensland when he was struck by a kangaroo.

A man has died after a kangaroo struck a motorcycle in Queensland.

The man, 48, was riding an off-road motorcycle north along Middle Road, Womalilla just after 7:30pm on Thursday when he collided with the animal.

The impact of the collision threw the man from his vehicle and he suffered critical injuries.

Emergency services arrived and treated the Womalilla man, but he died at the scene.

The kangaroo was also found dead following the crash.

The Forensic Crash Unit are investigating and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
