A small white container of ashes has been found on a bus in Perth, sparking over a month-long mystery as police appeal for family members to claim the remains.
The packaged ashes were found on a bus in Rockingham, about 50km south west of Perth CBD, on February 24.
The lid of the container is inscribed with the dates “24th/4th/77 – 29th/4th/23”, suggesting the deceased person would have been 46 years old when they died last year.
The name “Ranga’’ has also been written in pink marker alongside a love heart.
Various other scribbles also appear on the container’s lid.
Rockingham police shared a post on X advising family members to come forward to collect their loved one’s remains.
“This container of ashes was left on a bus in Rockingham on 24/02/24,” they wrote in the post.
“Please attend Rockingham Police Station to claim.”
