‘Beautiful daughter’: Rishwika Salibindla identified as one-year-old girl struck and killed in family driveway in Sydney’s west

A one-year-old girl struck and killed by a 4WD in her family’s driveway has been remembered as a “beautiful” daughter.

The death of a one-year-old girl killed by an SUV in her family’s driveway in Sydney’s western suburbs has prompted a outpouring of grief.

Rishwika Salibindla died on Friday evening despite the desperate attempts of emergency services to revive her at the family’s Edna Ave home in Toongabbie.

A family friend has started a GoFundMe to support funeral costs and memorial services for the “beautiful” girl.

“A tragic incident that has taken away a beautiful angel,” one mourner shared on social media.

Another said; “May little Rishwika rest in eternal peace, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever be held close to the hearts of those who knew and loved her”.

Emergency services were called to the address shortly after 5pm on Friday after reports of a crash on Edna Ave.

On arrival, police found Rishwika had been struck by an Audi 4WD in the driveway.

It’s understood the one-year-old had followed her father outside after he left the family home.

The infant was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, however tragically died at the property.

A NSW Police spokesman confirmed the child was struck in her family’s driveway.

The driver of the AUDI 4WD, a 41-year-old man, was taken to Westmead Hospital for mandatory testing.

Police have since established a crime scene as they investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.

In a statement, they said the scene would be forensically examined with a report to be prepared for the coroner.
