A complicated parking sign in Sydney’s CBD has sparked outrage from a motorist who had his car towed.
Nine Network reporter Eddy Meyer said his vehicle was taken away from the “special event clearway” even though he had a ticket.
The sign said the clearway was a strictly no stopping zone from 2pm to 9pm on October 1st and 2nd.
“Are you serious with this sign!!?” Meyer tweeted.
“Car was towed even though the machine gave us a ticket. It appears the Clearway is not from 2pm to 9pm on each day - but from 2pm on day one to 9pm on day three! Does that even make sense? So many others towed.”
Meyer said the confusion came because he assumed the space was available to park outside those hours, and not for the entire weekend.
“The way it’s laid out, it suggests a clearway on those days and between those times. Not the whole weekend! We were there at 10.30. Thankfully, the towie passed and told us where the car was.
Sky Racing’s Greg Prichard was among those in the comment section rubbishing the state of Sydney’s parking signs.
“They‘re taking the p***,” he replied. “Go around to Clover Moore‘s house and demand an explanation. Surely she’s to blame!”
