Uber has revealed the hilarious and rather bizarre things people have left behind in their rideshare vehicles over the past 12 months.

How to retrieve lost items from Uber

Uber has revealed some of the hilarious and rather bizarre things customers have accidentally left inside their rideshare vehicles.

An adult toy, a Spider-Man costume and a leaf blower are among the list of the most obscure items found by rideshare drivers over the past 12 months.

For the sixth year, Uber released its annual Lost & Found Index that showed Australians stepped it up with the weird and wacky items they had left behind during their Uber trips.

The most common items people forgot were their phone or camera, keys, wallet or purse, a backpack or bag and glasses.

Perth was the most forgetful Australian city, having the most number of riders leaving items behind. Brisbane was the least forgetful.

According to the Uber data, December 11 – during the peak Christmas period – was the most forgetful day for Uber passengers. More things were left behind on this day than any other in the survey period.

“From a prosthetic eye and a sewing machine to a sentimental metal straw and a leaf blower, Aussies and Kiwis have been more forgetful than ever this year,” Uber Australia head of rider operations Margarita Peker said.

“As we continue encouraging the country to get going again, we look forward to helping return these lost items – no matter how bizarre they may be.”

Riders are reminded that the best way to retrieve a lost item is to call their driver via the app.

Those who left their phones there can login to their account on a computer and contact their driver through there.
