The COVID-19 pandemic has been a destructive force through 2020, but a genius form of stress relief could be on the horizon.

The new program gives users the chance to unleash their pent up rage by undergoing what the developers called “destruction therapy”.

The ‘therapy’ service, offered by UK organisation Scrap Car Comparison, gives users the opportunity to destroy a car in a weird and completely bonkers way.

Those that partake in the experience will destroy a car with the number 2020 emblazoned on it by first shooting the car up with a shotgun and then runnning it over with a Chieftain battle tank.

The 56-tonne Chieftain battle tank was built by Leyland Motors and has been used in campaigns including the Gulf War in the early 1990s and the Iran-Iraq conflict of the 1980s.

Dan Gick, head of scrap car comparison, believes it is an ideal way for punters to unleash their frustration at the year that was.

“Our Rage Yard experience provides you with the chance to (safely) shoot scrap cars, before trampling over them in a huge armoured tank,” said Gick.

“The cars are heading to the scrap heap anyway, so after the year we’ve all had, it made sense to offer this exhilarating experience that should help people let go of their built-up frustrations from 2020.”

This is a unique opportunity for those that want to head to the fields of Northamptonshire in the British Midlands near Birmingham and only costs about 20 pounds ($36). And there aren’t too many places you can drive a tank outside the armed forces.

Destruction therapy is a real thing according to psychologists Dr Samia Latif.

And according to psychologist Dr. Samia Latif, there is real merit in the theory of “destruction therapy”.

“Certain individuals find that relieving tension in an overt physical manner is much more therapeutic and a form of stress relief that works better for them. This is known as ‘Destruction Therapy’ and it does allow people to relieve stress within a controlled environment,” said Dr Latif.
