2024 Nissan Z Nismo confirmed for Australia
This Japanese brand has revealed a new red-hot edition of its potent retro-inspired sports car that turns the dial all the way up.
Nissan’s retro-inspired sports car is going next level.
The Japanese brand has confirmed a Nismo edition of its Z coupe and it’s coming to Australia.
The potent two-door takes the twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine from the standard Z and beefs it up to produce 313kW and 521Nm, a rise of 15kW and 46Nm.
Enthusiasts will bemoan the lack of a manual transmission as Nissan will only fit a nine-speed automatic gearbox to the Nismo Z. It remains rear-wheel drive.
Nissan has added a range of enhancements to boost the vehicle’s track performance.
It ditches the regular sports seats from the standard versions and installs Nismo-badged Recaro racing seats.
The Nismo department has also applied its craft to the steering and suspension tune to make the vehicle more focused than before. Extra bolstering makes the suspension stiffer and the car sharper through the corners.
Larger front brakes and a more performance-focused brake pad component increase stopping power.
New gloss black 19-inch alloy wheels are wrapped in high performance Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT600 tyres, which are wider at the rear than the Bridgestone tyres on the standard versions.
A leather and faux suede wrapped steering wheel has marking at 12 o’clock and there are plenty of red highlights throughout the interior.
Interior kit remains mostly unchanged. A nine-inch touchscreen that is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is complemented by an eight-speaker Bose stereo and a fully digital dash that has unique Nismo graphics.
The Nismo Z features a slightly restyled front grille that includes some aerodynamic tweaks and red accents.
It has a wider rear spoiler, while a redesigned rear bumper and new side sills are designed to reduce drag.
Nissan Australia hasn’t revealed when the Nismo Z will arrive and will confirm local details and pricing at a later date, but it is likely to be close to six figures on the road.
