Monty Panesar tries to tempt American blonde in attempted Tinder tryst

A BACKPACKER was bowled over after receiving suggestive Tinder messages from an English cricket star hours after they collapsed in the final test.

AN English cricketer was caught out trying to tempt a blonde to his room at the team's hotel using matchmaking app Tinder.

Monty Panesar, 31, chatted up an American backpacker in her late twenties four hours after bowling in England's Fourth Test thumping by Australia in Melbourne, the UK's Daily Mirror reported.

"I thought it was a bit strange he would be behaving like that so soon after they had lost," said the woman, identified only as Alison by the newspaper.

She recognised Panesar after watching her first cricket match in Melbourne the day before.

The divorced cricketer told the backpacker they would have to meet at his hotel apartment because the team was not allowed out to bars.

"I wanted to talk to him about cricket but he had no intentions of that," she told the tabloid.

"All he seemed interested in was getting me over to the hotel." More at The Daily Mirror
