The consumer tech giant kept news of its seventh specialty store in Australia under wraps until earlier this week.
Now it might want to put the wraps back on.
As fans began queuing at Apple's central Sydney store for the launch of the iPad, the site of the Apple Store Bondi was filled with construction workers.
The shop — at 213 Oxford St, Bondi Junction — is scheduled to open tomorrow morning at 8am (AEST) to coincide with the tablet computer's release.

Apple today said the store would still open its doors on time, despite looking very much like a work in progress this afternoon.
A Kell & Rigby construction manager at the site refused to comment, but was wearing a badge featuring the Apple logo.
Two men and a woman on site identified by a Kell & Rigby employee as Apple workers also refused to comment.
The alleged Apple employees also refused to say whether they were actually employed by Apple.
One construction worker at the site told news.com.au to stop taking photographs.
When questioned, the worker told news.com.au: "F--- off."
Apple announced details of the store earlier this week to capitalise on media hype surrounding the launch of the iPad.
Devotees have already started queuing for the iPad at Apple's central Sydney store near Martin Place.
First in line Rahul Koduri said he began camping outside with a fold-out chair more than 24 hours before the gadget's release.
"I could have pre-ordered but there's a different feel to it when you line up outside an Apple store," the 22-year-old told the Sydney Morning Herald.
There were no fans to be seen outside the site of the Bondi Junction store.
Apple issued a media invitation earlier this week to the launch of its new store, scheduled to take place at 8am, Friday 28 May.
"The Apple Store Bondi is the best place to learn about all the latest products from Apple, including the magical new iPad," the invite said.
