A woman has been left rattled after a frightening encounter with an foul-mouthed road user in Melbourne got extremely heated.

Ebony Railton was driving home for her lunch break in Melbourne earlier this month when a very angry driver decided he wasn’t happy with her travelling the speed limit.

The 28-year-old was driving along Liverpool Rd in Kilsyth in a 40km/h zone when a man in the car behind her started to become agitated.

In a video, which Ms Railton posted on Facebook, a man wearing a high visibility vest and driving a silver car pulls up beside her and starts verbally abusing her.

He calls her a “sl*t” as she winds down the window, shouting: “I’ll f**king ram you off the f***ing road.”

He continues his foul-mouthed rant as Ms Railton continually repeats that it is a 40km/h zone, implying she was doing the speed limit.

“You don’t need to f**king slam your brakes on when the green light says f***ing go,” the man screams.

“You don’t need to sit at the f**king intersection for ten seconds. Learn how to f***ing drive.”

He then adds: “And get on a f***ing diet," before speeding off.

The video has already been viewed over 220,000 times, with Ms Railton claiming the man in the footage followed her home just so he could shout abuse at her.

“So, today this guy decided to FOLLOW ME HOME and abuse me because I didn’t take off at the lights fast enough and because I slowed down to 40km at roadworks,” she wrote.

“If anyone local knows him can you give me a heads up, thanks.”

She said that the encounter left her nervous and worried that he might try to target her again.

The 28-year-old said she took the matter to the police but was told they couldn’t do anything because he “didn’t physically assault or cause any damage”.

While most of the responses to the video were in support of Ms Railton and expressed outrage at the man’s behaviour, she said there were some who believed she was in the wrong.

“I've been receiving messages from those who believe I was the one at fault for this abuse,” she wrote.
