Dartz reveals new Black Stallion SUV
This hot shop’s signature is using outrageous materials to build its over-the-top vehicles, including one with whale penis leather interior. Check out its latest creation.
The latest creation from crazy car maker Dartz is set for a blockbuster debut.
The military-style vehicle dubbed the Prombron Black Stallion is due to appear in a yet-to-be-named movie.
Part tank and part SUV, the hulking high-rider looks set to be an action movie villain’s chaos-causing ride. And with uneven, jagged edges finished in matte black, the Black Stallion certainly looks the part.
A vicious angular front end with imposing fang grille and blocky headlights would not be out of place in Batman’s garage.
Adorning the front of the vehicle is a badge with winged skull and crossed assault rifles and skull badging is found inside the fuel cap cover and on the massive alloy wheels.
But the car’s most outrageous features are reserved for the interior, and if leather gets people’s blood boiling than the Dartz will send them over the edge.
The Latvian company has used stingray and alligator skin throughout, giving it an even more menacing appearance. But there is also less offensive real wood trim.
The Black Stallion isn’t built on the company’s usual base car — the Mercedes-Benz GLS — but appears to use the shell of a Hummer.
There is some serious hardware under the bonnet with a supercharged 6.2-litre Hellcat V8 producing 745kW.
Dartz says the vehicle isn’t named after an animal but instead draws its name from a Sikorsky military helicopter.
This isn’t the first time that Dartz has made an outrageous vehicle for a movie. One of its creations appeared in the 2012 movie The Dictator featuring Sacha Baron Cohen.
And the company also has a history of using out-there animal skins for interiors. In 2009 the company revealed a special edition of its $1.6m Prombron Monaco Red Diamond Edition armoured SUV — with interior trim of whale penis leather.
