Nuclear sub captain sacked over sex video with sailor

A British navy captain at the helm of a nuclear submarine has been sacked after video emerged of him having sex with a junior sailor.

A British submarine captain has been sacked for making a sex video while in command of nuclear missiles.

The officer was kicked out of the British Royal Navy after top brass saw the X-rated footage.

He was in command of a Vanguard-class nuclear submarine armed with Trident Two doomsday weapons, The Sun reports.

The captain shared the graphic film with a junior sailor who served aboard the same submarine.

Crewmates claimed the pair had an illicit physical relationship when the $7.75 billion sub was at sea.

However, a Royal Navy source said sex on board did not form part of their investigation.

Navy chiefs accused the submarine captain of sharing X-rated selfies as well.

The officer — who had met ­Princess Anne and was made an OBE for top-secret work — had moved on to a desk job when the footage and ­photographs were revealed.

He was immediately suspended before being sacked shortly afterwards under a “zero tolerance policy” to ­sexually unacceptable behaviour.

The scandal is another major blow to the British Navy amid a chronic shortage of submarine staff.

The officer had passed the gruelling Perisher course — a notorious test used to select submarine captains — to win command of a nuclear-powered submarine.

He was one of the youngest officers to captain a hunter-killer vessel before taking over a Vanguard-class, known as a “bomber boat”.

The Royal Navy told The Sun: “All forms of unacceptable behaviour are taken extremely seriously and anything which falls short of the highest standards will not be tolerated.

“Anyone who is found culpable will be held accountable for their actions, regardless of their rank or status.”

The Royal Navy has four nuclear-armed submarines, with a vessel always at sea in readiness to launch against Britain’s enemies in response to a nuclear attack.

The Vanguard sex footage follows other claims of poor behaviour on navy subs.

In 2022, a female sublieutenant reported a different submarine captain put his genitalia in the her pocket while on board.

And in 2017, a sub captain and his deputy were accused of having affairs with two junior female officers on board HMS Vigilant.
