The dangers of pointing lasers at planes

HE ADMITTED it was a dumb idea, but that didn’t stop this man from creating an ultra-futuristic homemade weapon.

YouTube user styropyro has become an internet sensation for his work with lasers and his latest creation is no exception.

The innovator recently took to his YouTube account to showcase his latest terrifying handiwork — a homemade 40-watt laser shotgun.

“There is no good reason for anybody to own something this powerful,” he said in the video.

“But because it wasn’t illegal for me to build, I decided to build it anyway.”

The weapon combined eight 5W lasers in front of a heat sink and used lenses to manipulate the beams.

To demonstrate its power, styropyro pointed to laser at ping pong balls, flash paper, balloons and wood, all of which flamed up after coming in contact with the beam.
