FACEBOOK founder Mark Zuckerberg has said artificial intelligence will NOT destroy humanity.

The billionaire was asked his thoughts about claims from doom-mongers like Elon Musk, who fears super-intelligent AI will wipe out our species, reports The Sun.

“I have pretty strong opinions on this. I am optimistic,” he said.

“I think you can build things and the world gets better. But with AI especially, I am really optimistic.

“And I think people who are naysayers and try to drum up these doomsday scenarios — I just, I don’t understand it.

“It’s really negative and in some ways I actually think it is pretty irresponsible.

“In the next five to ten years, AI is going to deliver so many improvements in the quality of our lives.”

He said AI could allow driverless cars to drive much better than humans, cutting down on accidents, or let machines diagnose cancer with incredible accuracy.

Musk hit back by claiming Zuck had a “limited” understanding of the topic.

What drives Elon Musk?

The Tesla founder recently said humanity needs to act NOW to stop artificial intelligence and killer robots wiping us out.

He also claimed AI “is a fundamental risk to the existence of human civilisation”.

Of course, it’s important to remember who these two men are before you decide who’s right.

Zuck is a billionaire whose company is developing tech that can read human thoughts at 100 words per minute.

He’s also rumoured to be planning to stand for President, perhaps becoming the first politician in history with the ability to understand his victims’, sorry, constituents’ actual thoughts.

Elon Musk is also a billionaire.

He develops electric cars and super fast Hyperloop trains while ploughing his money into space exploration.

We’ll leave it up to you to decide who you trust more.
