Elon Musk proposes ‘mega rave cave’ amid Coachella coronavirus cancellation rumours
When one of the biggest music events looks set to be cancelled over coronavirus, we turn to the Elon Musks of the world for a solution.
No Coachella, no problem.
Tesla founder Elon Musk proposed a unique solution to the Californian music festival possibly being cancelled over coronavirus – building a “mega rave cave” under his Brandenburg, Germany, Tesla facility. The announcement was made just after the hybrid car company reached the milestone of manufacturing 1 million vehicles.
“Tesla should have a mega rave cave under the Berlin Gigafatory,” the South Africa-born entrepreneur wrote in a Twitter yes-or-no poll on Monday.

In a subsequent tweet, Musk, 48, pledged that the hypothetical subterranean sound garden in Germany would be equipped with “an epic sound system and woofers the size of a car”.
The bizarre proposal came as Coachella event organisers face pressure to cancel the festival over coronavirus fears.

However, Musk appears to have little sympathy for the chic shindig.
“Coachella should postpone itself until it stops sucking,” snarked Musk in an earlier tweet.
He added that while the event “was good maybe five or six years ago” when there were “great and unknown bands,” he now believes that “too much corporate sponsorship killed the vibe”.
Musk is a known fan of “vibes” and recently released an EDM song called Don’t Doubt ur Vibe.
The tech entrepreneur also downplayed the coronavirus scare, calling the panic “dumb” in a controversial tweet last week.
Needless to say, Musk’s rave cave proposal appears to be resonating with 90 per cent of survey participants voting in favour as of Tuesday morning.
“Kraftwerk invited,” tweeted one rave cave fan, referencing the popular 1970s German electronic music band.
“Rave mode for Tesla would be nice,” joked another.

The official Twitter account for upcoming video game “Cyberpunk 2077” also chimed in: “Please hurry up – we need a cool venue for our launch party. And a good music act. Let us know if you have any recommendations.”
It’s unknown if Musk will put his money where his mouth is. However, the entrepreneur, who is expecting a child with musician Grimes, is no stranger to backing oddball ventures. Two years ago, the SpaceX boss memorably sold 10,000 flamethrowers in just two days.
