Samsung Bespoke Jet vacuum solves annoying issue

A swanky new vacuum has found a genius solution to a dirty and annoying problem that every stick vac owner has faced.

The Bespoke Jet vacuum | Samsung

REVIEW

I never thought I’d be so excited to buy a vacuum, however, the Samsung Bespoke Jet vacuum cleaner really knows the way to my heart. It boasts all the features of other top brands on the market plus some game-changing additions.

The Bespoke Jet comes in three different models including the Elite, Pro or Complete edition. I had a hands-on with the Elite edition, the most expensive of the three, though only $100 dearer.

This edition comes with all the bells and whistles: One hard floor and one soft floor brush, a mopping head (that sprays water while wiping with microfibre pads), a pet tool for sucking up fur on couches or pet beds, flex tool to reach unique vacuuming angles and two classic narrow vacuum heads.

I started testing this vacuum day to day with the Jet Dual Brush head which has powerful suction and an anti-hair tangle design. It had no problem picking up dust and dirt from vinyl and tile floors but, better yet, it was incredibly impressive at picking up thick and hidden dirt from carpets as shown by the look of its dust compartment.

I’ve noticed that many other vacuums on the market struggle to reach under low to the ground furniture and tight spaces. Samsung has remedied this by designing the main vacuum attachment to have a 180 degree swivel head and a low-profile design. This allowed me to vacuum under my couch without moving it for once.

Not to mention the vacuum wand is extendible and additional attachments such as the flex tool offers six points of flexibility to help reach unique places such as the top of the fridge.

Accessory cradle

Rather than having all these attachments loose or lost in your cupboard (my current situation) Samsung has also designed an incredibly handy ‘accessory cradle’ which allows you to attach all your accessories neatly to it so that they’re always easily accessible and in the same place.

This Accessory Cradle also houses a battery charging station and, as the vacuum comes with two batteries, it allows you to charge one while using the other in the vacuum. Though my favourite part might just be the fact that it has a handle so I can easily carry all my vacuum’s accessories down to the car.

Cleaning station

Nothing is worth more attention than the integrated clean station. This not only acts as a stylish stand and charging station for the vacuum when docked, but it also sucks out all of the dust from the vacuum’s dust compartment. Yes, it’s a vacuum for your vacuum!

And in a family of dust-allergic snifflers, wayward dust is our worst enemy, so being able to empty the dustbin without any aerated dust particles is awesome. Unlike Dyson stick vacuums where dust annoyingly gets all over your hands and goes into the air when you’re emptying the container over the bin, this a non-contact, completely sealed dust removal mechanism that sucks the dirt from your vacuum into a bag that’s housed in the clean station.

It’s funny, this system takes us back to the days of vacuum bags – but in the best way possible. Even the bags seal upon removal, minimising all contact with dust, dirt and debris throughout the process.

On average one bag holds three months worth of dust for a typical household. It comes with one bag installed and two extras.

Battery life

I seldom get in a cleaning mood so once I do it’s a nightmare for my vacuum’s battery to run out mid-chore. In the Bespoke Jet’s case it’s not a worry as each battery lasts up to 60 minutes depending on which mode of suction is selected, and as mentioned earlier, two are included.

It’s also easy to see and adjust the vacuum’s run time on the LED display on top of the vacuum. Best of all, the vacuum is powered on and off with the press of a button rather than the trigger design.

Should you buy it

The Elite edition that I have been trialling retails for a hefty $1399 and the Pro & Complete editions retail for $1299. I can’t say that this is an affordable vacuum for everyone, however, for its excellent breadth of features this is within the price range to be expected.

I certainly think it makes cleaning less of a chore.
