Designer reveals plans for ‘invisible’ superyacht

A jaw-dropping 88m vessel dubbed the ‘Pegasus’ will become the world’s first 3D-printed invisible superyacht.

Billionaire's Super Yacht

The plans for an ‘invisible’ superyacht with hidden reflective solar wings has been unveiled for an undisclosed construction price.

Italian designer Jozeph Foakis’s concept, dubbed Pegasus, would be the world’s first 3D-printed vessel made entirely from mirrored glass to reflect the sky and sea.

The 87 metre long vessel would be powered by a combination of hydrogen and solar-electric power from secret solar wings tucked away inside the glass of the yacht.

Mr Foakis said he wanted to create a superyacht with zero environmental impact by 2030.

“I was inspired to create a yacht as close to the sea and nature as possible, made of clouds floating above the waterline,” he said in a statement.

“I wanted to honour nature by blending into it, becoming virtually invisible. Now is the time for courageous leaps toward our collective sustainable future.”

Mr Foakis believes the design will encourage innovative and environmentally friendly ideas for future yachts.

‘Pegasus is a bold but achievable vision for the near future of the superyacht industry, where man and machine live in harmony with nature rather than competing or compromising it.’

A 3D-printing machine will manufacture a mesh framework for the vessel, resulting in a lightweight yet strong structure that uses less time, waste and energy than conventional construction.

The inside of the yacht will centre around a multi-level ‘Tree of Life’ hydroponic garden to help purify air and provide guests with fresh food.

The garden will wrap around a spiral staircase connecting the four levels where guests can access spacious lounges with 360 degree views of the seascape.

The top deck is an exclusive 15 metre long suite reserved for the owner with a private terrace and floor to ceiling glass doors.

If guests are looking for a place to relax, the lower deck has a ‘Zen garden’ and a tranquil reflecting pool.

The yacht also boasts an open beach club that can transform into an closed solarium for guests to enjoy.
