New web user interface could be coming to Netflix
GROUPS of users across the world are experiencing what could be Netflix’s first big change since launching in Australia.
NETFLIX’s old carousel user interface may be getting a change soon, with users reporting they are seeing a new version of the streaming services user interface that’s much easier to use.
The main difference are where the current web user interface makes it hard to pick certain episodes through its slow spinning carousel, the new design lets you expand the show or movie for more details and ditches the carousel.
The move to axe the carousel means that users can now click through selections in the different categories, speeding up time immensely. It also makes it easier to find a specific episode you want to watch, avoiding potential mistaken clicks.
Netflix spoke to journalists earlier in the year about its programs to evolve its user interface and how it often rolls out different user interfaces to random selection of users.
Back in its head office in Los Gatos, California, Netflix currently has around 1000 engineers dedicated to making sure the user experience of the service is leap years better than any of their rivals.
It pays off too - Netflix’s existing user interface across all its devices is easy to use and is often named in customer surveys as a key reason why customers subscribed to Netflix over other competitors across the world.
