HE said he would be back. Arnold Schwarzenegger has opened up about why the fifth instalment in the Terminator franchise will be a hit.
TERMINATOR Genisys star Arnold Schwarzenegger has opened up about why the fifth instalment in the franchise will be a success.
The ageing actor said he was always willing to reprise his robotic role as long as there was a solid script.
“I always said that I would do another Terminator if the story was great and I really enjoyed this story when I read it,” he told Slash Film.
“I think that the people who were involved made me feel like this was going to be a good movie and that they were going to go all out with the project.
“They really figured out a way to continue the story and kind of ignore the last one.”
Schwarzenegger said he believes there has been an enthusiastic response to the new film.
“It’s still today one of the top franchises that people are looking forward to seeing,” he said.
“I don’t think that it is difficult to win the people over, because the people are really excited about another Terminator. They’re ready to see another one. It just has to deliver.”
Schwarzenegger said his character would have similarities with its predecessors.
“I’m basically the same Terminator. I will destroy anything that’s in front of me in order to save her (Sarah Connor).”
“There actually some very funny scenes in this movie — not trying to be funny, just the circumstances make it very funny.”
Terminator Genisys is scheduled for a July 1, 2015.
Joining Schwarzenegger will be Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, Jason Clarke, J.K. Simmons, Byung-Hun Lee and Matt Smith.
