BASKETBALL great, Shaquille O’Neal is crowdsourcing a sequel to his 1994 video game Shaq-Fu and promises that this time he won’t “FU it up!”

SHAQ-FU, the 1994 16-bit video game is known by many simply because it was the most dreadful game ever. But that isn’t stopping basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal from trying to make a sequel.

Teaming up with gaming studio Big Deez Productions, Shaq has launched a rather odd campaign on Indiegogo to get funding for what the ex-NBA star is saying will be an “instant classic”.

Like its original, the idea of the sequel is to play as Shaq and beat up waves of enemies using all types of kung-fu moves. The developers have promised extra game modes like co-op and also say it will have a destructive environment — even so, the trailer still looks laughable.

The weirdest and most amusing part about this whole thing is the campaign. Firstly, aside from some brief social network buzz, why would Shaquille O’Neal a man who couldn’t spend all the money he has need to crowdsource the campaign?

Secondly — the weird but kinda cool perks for funding.

For example, fund $500 towards the campaign and the big man himself will follow you on Instagram and then like and comment on your “beautiful pictures”. Or if you fund $1000 Shaq will follow you on twitter and give you a shoutout to his 7 million adoring fans.

If you feel like really throwing Shaq some dough, how about getting a game of Basketball with Shaq on his personal court for $15,000?

Other perks include a 20-sec personalised clip from Shaq on YouTube for $750, get your head in the game for $2000 or for $400 you can go to the launch party with Shaq himself as a DJ.
