How to convince your partner to buy an Xbox One with this letter
WANT an Xbox One but don't know how to convince your partner? Microsoft has come to the rescue by releasing a pre-written letter on your behalf.
IF YOU really want a new Xbox One but are having a hard time trying to convince your other half it's worth it, Microsoft has come to the rescue by releasing a pre-written letter to help you get your new toy.
The tongue-in-cheek letter lets you fill in the blanks of a pre-drafted note with options that might help your cause and goes through a list of reasons why it's a good idea to buy an Xbox One so couples can enjoy it together, such as "entertainment for both of us" and "it will help us get fit".
The original form has been criticised for being sexist and stereotypical towards women as it assumes women don't play video games and pre-determined options included lines such as "you'd rather knit than watch me race cars."
The form has since been updated to offer more gender-friendly options, including being applicable to gay relationships. Although starting the letter with "Hey honey, not sure if you've heard but Xbox One is now available" will win many people over.
We'd love to know how effective this is so anyone brave enough to give the form the go, let us know how you get on.
