PlayStation announces release trailers for Last of Us 2, next Call of Duty
It’s the long-awaited sequel to one of PlayStation’s most beloved games, and we finally know when you can get it.
Sony’s latest PlayStation State of Play is here, leaving gamers around the world on the edge of their seats with the release date of The Last of Us Part 2 finally revealed.
State of Play is Sony’s Nintendo Direct-style video program, showcasing some of their latest updates, announcements and new trailers for PlayStation titles.
A somewhat spoilery The Last of Us Part 2 gameplay trailer seems to suggest that protagonist Ellie goes on a revenge mission before confirming that other main character, Joel, returns. The trailer ends by confirming the game will release on February 21, 2020.
The Last of Us Part 2 is a sequel to the original 2013 zombie-apocalypse release that shook gamers to their core with its amazing storytelling and immersive gameplay.
The other biggest reveal at State of Play was the release of a story trailer for the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, due to hit shelves on October 25.
This footage shows gamers playing as Call of Duty mainstays, SAS operatives John “Soap” MacTavish and Captain John Price, joining up with the CIA and the fictional Urzikastani Liberation Force to recover stolen chemical weapons.
A free demo of the upcoming MediEvil remaster is also now available for PS4 players.
Meanwhile, a special Death Stranding limited edition pro bundle has also been revealed — with a custom console and controller — ahead of its November 8 release.
A trailer has been released for Humanity, a new human behaviour simulator game due in 2020, while new title Arise: A Simple Story was also revealed.
Release dates for Civilisation VI and Battam are November 22 and December 2019 respectively, while various PlayStation VR titles were also unveiled.
This State of Play did not reveal too much for gamers, but what it did show off is sure to keep them satisfied as they eagerly wait for The Last of Us Part 2 in February.
