No more PS5 consoles coming before Christmas
The company may be “pleased” to have sent us all the stock we’re going to get – but if your kids want one from Santa it might be a disappointing Christmas.
Next-generation gaming consoles are likely to be one of the most sought after Christmas presents this year, but parents hoping to surprise their children with a new PS5 or Xbox under the tree are in for a hard slog.
Not only are the consoles more or less sold out everywhere, no longer even appearing on the websites for retailers like JB Hi-Fi and Harvey Norman, there aren’t any more on the way.
“Sony Interactive Entertainment Australia is pleased to have fulfilled all PS5 stock available to Australians and New Zealanders in 2020. We look forward to making more stock available in 2021,” a company spokesperson said.

A Microsoft spokesperson pointed news.com.au to an earlier statement the company made when asked about stock issues that said to check with local retailers.
“We can’t wait for fans to experience gaming on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S,” the company added ambitiously.
While Microsoft can’t wait for you to play the new Xbox, you will have to wait unless you already managed to get your hands on one.
Availability has been one of the biggest issues facing the new consoles.

Of course they were always going to be in high demand, but customers in Australia have had a rough trot getting their hands on one.
The initial batch of consoles available for pre-order were snapped up before many even had a chance to try to order one.
Their frustration was added to when console pre-orders almost immediately started showing up on eBay at hugely inflated prices.
That’s only continued in the face of stock shortages.
On eBay in Australia, next-gen consoles were attracting bids almost double the recommended retail price on Tuesday.
Many have reacted with disappoint to the news they’re unlikely to get their hands on a new console before the end of the year.

Also, world peace/health I guess.
US rapper Meek Mill offered to collaborate with the console makers to get consoles to the hood but there’s barely enough to be selling them in stores let alone giving them away for free (although the multi-platinum artist did offer to pay).
Play station or Xbox should do a collab with us in the hood with those PS5âs and new Xboxâs this Christmas for the ones who canât afford em! Iâll put up money...I do big toy drives in Philadelphia every year let me know.. them games keep them kids out of them bad environments!
