Viral Battlefield trailer sees over 1 million hits in 24 hours
It won’t hit stores for another two months, but the new trailer for Battlefield V has gone viral in just 24 hours. It’s release comes ahead of GamesCom in Germany next week.
GAMING publisher EA has unveiled a major gameplay trailer for their upcoming WWII multiplayer online shooter Battlefield V ahead of the GamesCom event in Germany next week.
Entitled The Devastation of Rotterdam, the action-packed trailer shows British and German
soldiers fighting through the streets of the Dutch city, with locations including a railyard and a
ruined church, before the action shifts elsewhere in the world to fields, Snowy Mountains and the deserts of North Africa.
A range of WWII weapons and vehicles feature prominently in the trailer, notably drivable tanks and flyable aircraft — and in one scene and in one scene a V-1 “Doodlebug” flying bomb is called in to level a city block full of soldiers.
EA’s press materials indicate there will be destructive environments in the Battlefield V, saying
“throughout the trailer, the game’s dynamic physicality and destruction is on full display. As the architecture crumbles and gives way, torn by the devastation of close quarters combat, truly no battle in Battlefield V will ever be the same”.
Already viewed nearly a million times on YouTube since it was uploaded, the trailer also appears to tease a Battle Royale mode, with a ring of fire being shown enclosing on an ever-decreasing area as soldiers and vehicles find themselves in the middle of it.
Battlefield V is being developed by Dice, who were responsible for the excellent WWI-setting
Battlefield 1, and is currently set for release on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 19.
