WHAT’S a Snaptile? If you love taking and sharing photos on your phone you better find out.

It’s not often you stumble across an app and think: ‘this is cool and useful’, as usually it’s one or the other.

But Snaptile might just be both.

It’s the new way to take and share photos on your iPhone and it’s got all the tools you’ve ever wanted plus those you didn’t know you did, and the best thing about it is it was developed by a couple of Aussie blokes!

Snaptile launched in the Apple store this week and photo-junkies will fall in love with the new filters and formats such as Selfiegram, Twosy and Spotlight and the ability to write over your photos or give them a watermark.

Snaptile also lets you post these personal creations to your social media accounts which is good news considering over 350 million photos are uploaded to Facebook, around 40 million to Twitter and 55 million to Instagram every day!

But not only does this app take a pretty sweet snap, it’s safe too.

“Currently it’s far too easy to mistakenly share or misuse photos on social media,” says Sydney dad David Walsh who developed the app with co-founder Steve Ironside.

“We’re putting the control back in the users’ hands so you don’t end up with photo regret or leave yourself vulnerable to the many photo stealers out there.”

Six Tile Cameras let you set up different groups of people to receive photos, think ‘friends to see my party photos’, ‘family to see photos of my kids’, ‘colleagues to only see photos posted before 6pm’. Plus, you can set photos to self destruct after a time interval such as an hour, two days or 100 days.

There’s also a Panic Button so you can quickly delete photos from your wall in case of a double chin emergency and a Super Nanny feature that makes you past a sobriety test before posting anything after a certain time (hello, midnight kebab shop selfie!).

“There are lots of photo lovers out there and we think this is the perfect way for them to up the ante and have a bit more fun with their snaps,” says David. “And it lets you do it without the worry and regret.”

So if you want to check it out, hit up http://appstore.com/snaptile and show us what you create. We’d love to see it.
