Activision shrinking Call of Duty Warzone, Modern Warfare file size on PC, PS5, Xbox
As video games continue to balloon, one publisher has announced it will shrink the space it takes up so you can install more on your hard drive.
Activision has mercifully announced it will do something about the ballooning file sizes of its popular Call of Duty franchise to give gamers a hope of being able to install other games alongside it.
New updates for Modern Warfare and Warzone will optimise the file sizes of the games and allow you to delete content you’re not interested in.
According to a blog post from the company, Warzone will shrink by up to 14.2GB while Modern Warfare will be up to 33.6GB smaller depending on what platform you game on.

The space savings will require a larger than usual update though, needing to download around 57GB.
While most Australians on the NBN have unlimited data on their plan, the large update could prove an issue for people still on data-capped connections.
The update comes ahead of season two of Black Ops Cold War and Warzone with an update also adding new game modes, maps, weapons and vehicles.
