New survey suggests Apple Music is losing users

APPLE is hoping to revolutionise the entire music industry again with its new streaming service. But a new survey paints a bleaker picture.

Apple Music: 5 Things You Need to Know

APPLE Music was meant to revolutionise the music industry just like iTunes did, but new reports are painting a bleaker picture for Apple.

A new survey suggests only 11 per cent of iPhone and iPad users have tried the streaming service so far, and of those 48 per cent have stopped using the service already. However, Apple issued a statement saying that was wrong and the real number was far less.

While on the surface the 11 per cent usage level of Apple Music might seem considerably low, it’s still around 100 million devices and roughly the same amount of iOS users who currently use iTunes.

Of the 5000 people surveyed that were using Apple Music, only 64 per cent of them said they were very likely to subscribe to the service once the free trial period is over. While that might seem like good numbers, Apple prides themselves as a company with almost perfect customer satisfaction.

There are some upsides for Apple in the survey, with 28 per cent of Spotify Premium subscribers currently using apple Music and there are still 23 per cent of iOS users that aren’t even aware of Apple Music yet, giving them plenty of room to grow.

It’s worth noting that the Android app for Apple Music is also yet to be released, leaving an extra billion potential users there to sign up to the service.

Regardless, users are still waiting for that killer feature to convince them to either jump ship from Spotify or sign up to a streaming music service at all.
