Here’s how to hear news.com.au on your Amazon Alexa smart speaker
You can now hear the latest headlines from news.com.au on your Amazon Alexa smart speaker. Here’s how to set it up.
Getting the latest news just got even easier for those with an Amazon Alexa smart speaker.
Amazon has launched its Alexa news channels in Australia which means users can get all the day’s top stories from news.com.au (and other news providers) with one simple voice command.
If you’ve got an Alexa, all you have to say is, “Alexa, play me the news”, then select news.com.au as your provider and one of our news.com.au team members will get you up to speed with the biggest headlines from Australia and overseas.
You can also set news.com.au as your preferred Alexa News Channel. Once you do that, all you have to say is, “Alexa, play me the news”, to hear the latest headlines.
Here’s what you need to know.
How do I set news.com.au as my Alexa News Channel?
Open the Alex app, tap ‘More’, then select ‘Settings’. Under ‘Alexa Preferences’, choose ‘News’. Then tap on ‘My News Channel’ and select news.com.au.
What will I hear on my news.com.au Alexa News Channel?
We’ll play you the latest episode of our podcast, From the Newsroom, which covers the biggest and most interesting news stories from Australia and overseas.
Then we’ll follow it up with a chat with one of our news.com.au journalists for an in-depth look at the biggest news story of the day.
What if I’m not interested in one of the news stories?
It’s OK, we won’t be offended. You can listen to all the stories in the stream or you can skip to the stories that interest you most by simply saying, “Alexa, skip”.
