YouTuber takes a circular saw to his PlayStation 4 Pro after Spider-Man Remastered confirmed for PC

YouTuber Blaze4K has taken a circular saw to his PS4 Pro in response to the announcement of Spider-Man Remastered PC.

What drives a man to madness? Loss, rage, the pursuit of happiness? In this case, it’s a video game he’s already played coming out on a new, different platform.

Blaze4K, a YouTuber with a small channel, took a circular saw to one of his PS4 Pro consoles in a fit of apparent rage at the announcement that Spider-Man Remastered was coming to PC.

In a video on YouTube, quickly passed around Twitter, he fails to properly cut his Spider-Man branded PS4 in half before slamming it into a piece of wood, detaching small parts of the cover. While the console is doubtlessly now broken, it certainly isn’t in pieces as may have been desired.

Images on Twitter show he did eventually manage to cut a piece of expensive plastic in half.

This followed a YouTube short Blaze posted, in which he described Spider-Man having been “stolen” from “my console”.

In case it wasn’t clear, Blaze is rather playing to the crowd here, one that for some reason either is actually angry about this or believes someone would do something like this legitimately, rather than as a stunt to get attention. As Blaze admits himself, he has four backup PS4 Pros. He effectively lost nothing.

Of course, he could have given it away, or sold it, or donated it to a charity, or one of a thousand other things, but the point was the stunt, not the act of getting rid of the PS4. Much of the rest of his small YouTube channel is focused on equally fanboy-adjacent things, such as Xbox-hating videos, exaggerated reviews, and so on.

Spider-Man remastered will launch on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store on August 12. Think of the PS4 Pros that died to get it there when you decide if it’s worth your purchase.
