A gaming organisation has reinstated a popular streamer after an investigation into an alleged sexual assault found the streamer was not involved.

Popular Twitch streamer Mizkif has been reinstated at gaming organisation One True King (OTK) after an investigation into an alleged sexual assault “did not find direct evidence” that the streamer was involved.

OTK, which was co-founded by Mizkif, revealed the decision in an official statement on the organisation’s Twitter account. The organisation says that it retained the services of Texas law firm Jackson Walker to carry out the investigation, and that Jackson Walker had “free rein” to investigate.

“The scope of the investigation was to determine whether or not Mizkif attempted to cover up or minimise a sexual assault allegedly committed by one of his former roommates,” OTK said in the statement.

“Jackson Walker was granted free rein to gather all relevant facts, interview witnesses, and advise OTK as to whether evidence supported the allegations”.

The allegations first surfaced earlier in the year, as another popular streamer, Trainwreckstv, publicised allegations from content creator Adrianah Lee that Mizkif had covered up an alleged sexual assault by his housemate, CrazySlick. OTK placed Mizkif on unpaid leave shortly after the allegations became public in September 2022.

Jackson Walker claims that there’s no “direct evidence” that Mizkif attempted to cover up the alleged assault. OTK did note, however, that Mizkif had “shown a callous disregard towards the severity of sexual misconduct” in comments on-stream following the allegations, and said that he would not return to the OTK board of directors for an indefinite amount of time.

“Due to his actions, the OTK board of directors has suspended Mizkif from his board duties effective immediately and he will be placed on monitored probation until he demonstrates to the board that he is capable of upholding our organisation’s values”.

The response to the statement has not been particularly well received on social media, with replies to the tweeted statement largely against OTK for its handling of the situation. One user posted a short video of themselves burning OTK merchandise, while others said the organisation had lost credibility.

Adrianah Lee, who made the initial allegations against Mizkif and his housemate, tweeted following the statement, simply saying “actually laughable”.

The streamer who helped publicise the allegations, Trainwreckstv, recently won big betting on the World Cup, correctly predicting four wins in a row and taking home over $2.3 million.

It comes after Twitch announced new safety tools for streamers, in the form of a feature called “shield mode”. The feature allows streamers to instantly shut down their channel’s chat to prevent abuse from new viewers.
