Sony accidentally puts Tekken 2 up for sale at $9,999 USD
Players and developers have reacted after Sony mistakenly put a 27-year-old classic fighting game up for sale at $9,999.
Sony has begun the rollout of the new PlayStation Plus services, with games becoming available.
In a freak accident, one game – 1996’s fighting game sequel Tekken 2 – was put up with a sale price of US$9,999. That’s around AU$14,5000.
A number of gamers have spotted the mistake over the past 24 hours, with this tweet going the most viral on the subject:

Tekken game director and general manager at publishers Bandai Namco, Katsuhiro Harada, also got into the fun, calling it a “MARVELLOUS PRICE” in a pair of tweets:

He then later claimed an arcade stick he signed is now worth the same amount of money.
Tekken 7, the latest entry in the series, recently passed 9 million sales, a record. It also pushed franchise sales above 53 million copies.
The game has received positive reviews from critics and players and will feature at this year’s EVO fighting game tournament.
