Marvel’s Midnight Suns combines tactics and superheroes on October 7

Marvel’s Midnight Suns is one of the best strategy game studios partnering with the biggest brand in the world — and it’s out October 7.

Marvel: Midnight Suns is the next big-money Marvel game, though it’s a little different from what you might expect. Rather than a third-person action game it’s turn-based tactics from the studio that brought us the modern XCOM games, Firaxis.

We got a release date today at Summer Game Fest: October 7.

The new trailer features evil versions of the Hulk, Venom, and other characters. Well, eviller. It also debuted Spider-Man as a playable character, and showed off a few other heroes kicking butt. Not a whiff of gameplay, which is surprising from a studio like Firaxis, but we’d expect to see some soon — maybe even as early as Sunday at the PC Gaming Show, given the studio’s pedigree.
